I think Jimbo is far far more likely, but man would I love to see what Chip could do at LSU. I think Chip would honestly scare Saban and Bama.

If Oregon can't land Herman (and they won't), they'll likely throw the bank at Kelly to return. My guess is that Chip will be back on the Oregon sidelines next year.

A huge name former NFL coach who would have the whole state behind him and coaches who can recruit like crazy on staff would succeed at LSU.

49ers aren't firing him after one year. Especially when his quarterbacks are Gabbert and Kappernick.

They might not fire him this year, but I don't see him turning that team around. So then what? Does he get another chance with another team? Eventually, he had to see the writing on the wall.
