@fbrumormill: Too Texas targets rumored to be Jim Harbaugh and Jimbo Fisher.

I'm not listening to anyone who spells "TWO" as "TOO."
Nope.
Nope.

Or, maybe he meant to say "TOP."
Still. Same rule applies.

I think that was supposed to be "Top", not "TWO". Looks like he hit the "O" twice when trying to type the "P".

I could see Jimbo going, but Harbaugh is just looking for more money out of the 49ers.

Sorry didn't read due to no Saban in thread title.

One HUGE problem with Jimbo, he is coaching in the NC game nearly a month from now. There is no way Jimbo entertains that job while prepping for the Natty and Texas shouldn't want him to. I can't see Texas waiting that long. Same story for Malzahn.

I think the loser of the BCS championship game coaches at Texas next season.
JK, Saban.
JK, Saban.

I think had it been any other year but this one then yes. But right now I just don't see it. Not with the potential of a hell of a run with Winston being so young.
And I wouldn't underestimate just how embarrassing Texas looks right now over all of this with Brown.

i assume they aren't gonna wait unit after the MNC to make a hire. and they aren't gonna get someone in said game before it's played. don't see how that hire will be made.

Orangebloods.com owner Geoff "Fatfrick" Ketchum weighs in:
Good fricking lord almighty

Gentlemen, prepare yourselves for the greatest coaching search of all-time
And just like that… everything about the Longhorn football program has changed.
With so many thoughts running through my mind, the first dominant one is that everyone needs to buckle up because the moment of truth is here. We're about to witness one of the truly great college coaching searches in a generation.
For a decade, I've listened to rumors of top-level coaches foaming over the chance to take control of the Longhorn program and now we are going to see what the Joneses are truly capable of.
With the story unfolding as it has, the Longhorns might not be in a position to nab Nick Saban, but everything else on the table seems very possible and there's no reason why the Longhorns shouldn't exhaust every natural resource needed to ensure that the program secures a nuclear warhead.
If that means waiting until the BCS games are over to seriously ratchet up the interview process, so be it. I don't the Longhorns should feel pressured to make any quick decisions in the coaching search and every step should be carefully taken so that none of the top candidates are spooked. All that matters is getting it right and this is the Texas' chance to prove what everyone has always suggested about them.
Go be the Joneses. Settling is for punks. Go be the Joneses
Meanwhile, it's forever important that this sleeping giant is hugely gigantic at this very moment because of the man that is departing. There will be a lot of conversations about a lot of the layers of this story, but one of the bottom lines is that Mack Brown is a Hall of Fame coach and the greatest of the modern era in the Longhorn universe.
He'll always be that guy. And everyone should make sure to embrace a warm goodbye through the rest of this month because a rebuild of the Humpty Dumpty sideshow behind the scenes will make the open position even more attractive.
The spotlight is on The University of Texas. We're about to find out if what starts here truly changes the world.
Good fricking lord almighty

Holy Jesus, Texas fans may be more insane than rantards.

I'm telling y'all, you don't know these assholes like we do. Why do you think 4 giant AAU schools left to get away from them?

Any fanbase that can make hiring Hugh Freeze sound like the next Highlander movie deserves to be ridiculed.
THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!

What the....why in the......who in the frick talks like that?
"Greatest coaching search of all time"?
Are they going to make the candidates sing and dance for Simon Cowell?
Eliminate candidates live on TV?
Execute the candidates who don't get the job?
I mean, what does that even mean???
These Texas "writers" still haven't even wiped all the egg off of their faces after the clown show they participated in last week and this a-hole publishes this?
"Go be The Joneses"?
I'm sorry, Longhorns. You stopped being "The Joneses" a while ago. Hell, with one NC in 40 years with all their in-state talent, money, and resources, they never were "The Joneses".
Sheesh.

If you're waiting for them to learn their lesson or be humbled in the slightest, you'll be waiting for a long time. The whole program gets humiliated last night and this is what they put out today. Unbelievable.
