Aranda makes a move at the end of the year, and has his hire.
LSU has known since October that both coordinators were not coming back, and we are still piddling around watching everyone else snatch up their guys.

Not saying it's not a good hire but Aranda pulling guys he worked with in the past is exactly what got O in hot water.
I like Aranda but just don't see him as a good head coach of a college team. He should have gone the NFL DC route.

To be fair, Grimes JUST coached a top 10 offense.

And the two years before that he coached teams that scored 28 a game. In 2020 had the QB to get it done - that guy doesn't exist at Baylor.

To be fair, if LSU announced Jeff Grimes as OC the day after BYUs bowl, our fan base would be in shambles.
I have no issue with them taking their time a bit but they better not be going after a single guy and if we miss then they have to start the search over.
I just feel like they are looking at freeman and if he doesn’t take the job then they will have to scramble to either get Odom or Kris Richards and I’m not thrilled about either choice. If two or three guys turn you down publicly then you end up scraping the barrel for anyone who will come coach the defense as the job will look tainted.
Offense I have less worries cuz even if we miss, we can fall back on Russ. But even that search worries me some cuz it seems like O might hire anyone Brady recommends. And if my experience as a fan has taught me anything, it’s that coaches always think highly of “their guys” even if it’s unwarranted.

And yet he moved decisively and got his OC (great hire) quickly.
