I would think Arky would take a hard look at Gundy. Stillwater is only 3.5 hours from Fayetteville so recruited the same ground, and he brings in a known name.

Not at all bottom football power house. Mid Major non Power 5.

Gundy seems to be pretty tired of the current landscape. I would be surprised if he jumps right back in.

We would have loved to have had Gundy last time.... feels like NIL and him don't work.
He lost his roster last year. I had a kid I coached play for him a couple years back. Good at making scapegoats out of the kids he isn't fond of and protecting the ones he hand picks.... kids eventually see through that. My kid was buried down the depth chart until some RB's got hurt, suddenly he was good enough to almost win the Big XII for them but all Gundy could ever talk about was anything the kid did wrong. He eventually left. Kid took the high road too and never made a comment even though Gundy repeatedly threw him under the bus. Finished his career at an FCS school and moved on from football and is now doing well for himself.
I stopped following their program after that but supposedly that happened last year at the end of the season also and led to a ton of roster turnover.
Ultimately what got him canned I guess.
So, no thank you. We would rather take a chance on new blood than Gundy at this point.

Fair enough, but if you are a program like Virginia Tech or Arkansas wouldn't you gladly take 'his ceiling'?

Oh absolutely. Middle of the pack program is perfect for these BKs and JFs of the CFB world.

Yeah and by no means am in trying to be disrespectful to those programs....I know if it was 2011 again when Tulane fired Bob Toledo and we had the chance to hire a coach like Franklin I would have loved it.

quote:will say it was more impressive then than what Lea’s done in NIL age. I don’t want Lea, he’s got his Cam Newton there now and I don’t trust they’ll continue to be top tier in SEC once Pavia’s gone.
Had two straight 9 win seasons at Vandy
