Some of you are hilarious. If you don't think JDR will be an unquestionable success, you are kidding yourself.

There really is no basis to believe this statement. It's an opinion that has no basis in the historical reality of college football. But go ahead and believe it.

He hasn't proven he can recruit. Neither have most of the elite coaches in the NFL. This has to be the worst reasoning I've ever read when questioning a potential hire of JDR.

Right. Not like its a critical piece of the game at this level. And places like USC recruit themselves, right? That's why they were so dominant in the 90s under John Robinson and Paul Hackett. Got it.

His defensive acumen is at least the equal of Saban.

Well then. Charlie Weiss had a large amount of offensive acumen. Look where it got him. Defensive acumen does not make one qualified to be a college football head coach. There is much more that goes into it.

quote:

If USC hires JDR, I'll go on record as saying USC will win more national titles under JDR than they did under Carroll

Again, because winning national championships is so easy, right? Not one single college football coach was as successful as Pete Carroll during his reign at USC. NOT ONE. And yet, this guy, who has a NFL record that is one game over .500, and has never once coached in a college football game, will be better. That's madness.
