butch has already turned them down.
If I were the Vols, id go after the Boise State coach Chris Peterson.
- He is innovative on offense
- His team is consistently ranked
- He gets more out of his lesser recruited players.
The better get him before someone else does.

i don't know why del rio's name is consistently brought up for every college job. is there anything to indicate he'd be interested in leaving the nfl? i love how all the rantards say he'd come to lsu because he has a daughter there. his daughter must be in a PHD program if she was there when saban left and she's still there now

anyway the reason his name often gets brought up is because is mainly because many people feel he's unhappy in J'ville because the ownership sucks. Hell he was going to meet with LSU after Saban left but Bertman mucked things up.

He came to interview with LSU while his team was in the playoffs. Bertman fricked it up, but he has ties to this area and he wants to have more time with his daughters.

Skip didn't bother to call Weaver. He technically didn't have to, but del Rio thought it was dishonest to not tell him so he backed out.

His agent didn't bother to call Weaver, as his contract required if he was interviewing for other jobs. JDR is a stand up guy, backed out and then fired his agent for effing it up.
Skip thought he was getting jacked around for contract negotiation reasons...turned down the 2nd attempt to set up a meeting.

I know this much Jack Del Rio has let it be known that if the timing is ever right he wants the LSU job. His wife is from here and his daughters went to LSU. Also I know as late as last year they still have a home in Destrehan.

Peterson is a west coast guy and doesn't look to come east. He loves it at Boise State and makes a million dollars.
