The last time we hired a coach who flew under the radar, and was relatively unknown in the south it worked out pretty good. He was an Appalachian area born dude by the name of Nick Saban. Let’s find someone like that!

Coaching hires are a crap shoot. All a big name guarantees is that Jimmy Sexton has your balls in a vice if it doesn't work.

Honest question, why the hype for him? He’s in the weak Big 10 and essentially has a blank check to spend on his roster at Oregon.

Noooope. We need a young energetic coach Who is also an offensive guru and is willing to push the players.

NO. Ive had to spend a bunch of time in Atlanta recently for work. The hotel has local TV and Ive been seeing the Ga Tech coach a good bit. That dude is a sure snuff FOOTBALL COACH. Motivator, WINNER. Id take him any day. He's inspiring.

Key is a really good coach but he's not leaving Tech

Big name my arse.Find a coach with leadership qualities who’s detail oriented and organized. That was NS in 1999.Go find that guy no matter if he’s a whale or a redfish. There are great coaches out there ,hire the one you think is best for LSU

No it doesn't. It has to be the right hire like it was 25 years ago when LSU hired Saban. LSU needs a coach to stabilize and fix the train wrecked program.

I think that's where you start at least. Dropping $53m with "maybe we can drop it doing a lump sum" makes me think they're going for a name.
