As long as Miles....
Keeps the program clean.
Wins 50% or more TUOS games
Wins 75% or more MSU games
Wins 50% of bowls games
Averages no more than 2 -3 losses per yr.
Gets a B10 title every few yrs(this will be our first yr with CCG)....used to be many tied titles
I dont ever see him being fired at Michigan. We just arent like that. The most important thing is being clean, and AFTER that comes the standards we want to see on the field.

Dude, no one in here is suggesting he should leave. Leave this thread to the grown ups.
Grown ups don't look at an 8-5 season as a bad season. 5-7 is a bad season.

So, you're saying they want to eat the cake too?

I would also like to say that although I like Miles and he is a great coach, there is no one coach out there that I would handcuff our program to for the long haul. Not a one.
If they wan the big bucks, they play with the big boys. There's a reason they get paid like that and in this profession, there is no such thing as job security.
If he wants 5 million a year, he should be willing to take the criticism and realize that if he doesn't perform, he's gone.
Well said. At the end of the day the university also has to protect itself from potential disaster. Contracts that are longer than 5 years put the university in a potentially bad situation.

When did I EVER say that? I'm discussing a coaching change. I haven't said one way or the other.
Get out of here with that weak sauce.
Like I said, leave this to the grown ups who have reading comprehension skills.

"What happens if he has another bad season?"
Is 11-2 a bad season in which one of the losses is a close game against the No. 1 team in the nation and a national champion?

There have been many threads and people on this board over the last several days that say they wish he would go... I hope they get their wish!

From a business, and strictly business standpoint, I'm willing to offer big money right now but in no way am I willing to offer long term.
*By long term, I mean 5 plus years.

Jeezum. This thread is not bashing Miles or saying he should go. We are discussing business and money here.

I have no idea what this means. I'm guessing it's an insult.

In Miles case, that would be 1 season in 6.

So, I guess you're referring to our Mass Comm school. So, I didn't graduate from the mass comm department. Is that supposed to be an insult?
I thought only sorority girls graduated from there.

You fired your coach for going 7 and 6. If LSU shouldn't be upset with 8 and 5 then you shouldn't be upset with 7 and 6.

And also, the moment you figure out that football has nothing to do with emotions, and is everything to do with business, is the moment you realize that at some schools, an 8-5 season isn't very good.
I want Miles to stay, but I want him to be held accountable as well.
