Well that will be our loss if it happens

Then reality hits. 99 percent of these names I am seeing are just fantasy

I hope you are right. I've tried really hard to get behind Miles, but I feel we could be in much better hands (yes we could do worse also).

sadly that might be true. However if it happens it will be a relief to me still. It is a name that we as insecure fans can take heart in and that means we will not melt down after every loss and we can enjoy wins without a big "but" around thme, because Spurrier has the personality and record to enable us to do that. That shall be good.

He has also is fairly decent and should maintain the program.

That's just the toughest part of this. The not knowing and then the "adjustment" again. I was very guarded about Coach Miles when he first arrived, but did come to see him as a great coach for the time in LSU's program that he was hired. Part of my reluctance to see him leave is that I really like the guy, and the other part is that I really don't want to have to learn to like seeing someone else in purple and gold on that sideline. No matter WHO it is, and how great his history may or may not be, there will be that "proving" time that is such a drag! But no matter what, I am all for LSU!

short term it'd be cool to see Steve start talking some shite again knowing he's now backed by some serious talent.

long term it may not be the best thing

With SPurrier we might bypass that. That is the main asset to him. It is all perception and football fans need a personality to make them feel better and good about the program. It will be hard to criticize Spurrier so easily. I also think it will bring LSU fans back to a certain level of reality that is going to be very much needed over the next 4 to 5 years as we see parity becoming more of a fact.

He would not hurt it that is for sure. I think we maintain our high standards.

And this might be his long term benefit.Because if things keeping going as they are in 10 to 15 years we very well might be in a position where we will have to depend on Out of state recruiting as a much more bigger part of our viability as a program. He could at least help us transition to that

I think Spurrier working with Jarret Lee and our young WR for the next 4 years would be deadly. We just need to find a good DC for the other side of the ball.

I think he would be be great with LEE.

YEah Spurrier has benefits. However I still have major concerns about him. THere are things that have occured this year at South Carolina that concern me. Concerns that I think too m many people blow away by saying he doesnt have "talent". WHich I dont think is the crux of the problem there
