Is Aranda a likely NFL guy?

Just curious if his style and skill set would eventually translate well to the NFL for those in the know. Hard to imagine him staying at one place in college forever (eta: once he becomes a HC).

God I hope not. It's nice to have a coach that is cerebral and can speak in complete sentences.
I do think his demeanor might be more in line with the pro game, given that recruiting is such a big part of the college game. Aranda seems so subdued in comparison to the typical college coach.

Gut feeling with no basis- just like the rest of the Rant-- lol. He seems like a guy whose sills would translate well in the NFL.

At least one nfl team thought so... He interviewed with packers a couple years ago for linebacker coach position, but opted to stay at Wisconsin.

The only thing I know is that in his past he has definitely communicated that he wants to be a head coach. It's also negotiated in his contract that he can leave buy out free to be a head coach.
I have nothing that tells me he wants to go to the NFL to be a DC or HC.

Should have been more specific. I meant once he becomes a HC. IE, he pulls a Saban.

Never really thought about it but he does seem like a good fit for an NFL job.
I know we want to keep him in this little box where he stays at LSU forever as the DC but that's not realistic. I believe there's a good possibility that he leaves to get his own college HC job or a coordinator position in the NFL.

I think he would absolutely do well in the pros , but I also get the impression he's gonna be pretty selective about where he goes. He's at a great place and he knows it. He was at a great place in Wisconsin and didn't just jump at the first suitor.
I think he enjoys the freedom he has in college in terms of personnel and recruiting. I don't think he's got a burning desire to coach in the nfl.

That is exactly what I have been posting for the past few days, Aranda will be in the NFL in the next 3 years. His temperament is perfect for the NFL not college, he doesn't like to recruit and he is a NFL type genius as a DC. I promise you someone in the NFL is going to give this guy a chance sooner rather than later.

You cannot base Aranda's moves on Comparable actions of other coaches. There is a great unknown with Aranda. Hanagriff said yesterday he never interviewed him. The media cannot gain a pulse on him just yet other than the fact that he turned into a home run DC hire.

He connects with his players and makes them better. Most of us remember how prickly Saban was when he came to LSU. Aranda is more widely liked by his players than NS was at a similar phase of development.

Sure you can. Doesn't mean it will ultimately be right. Pete Carroll made the jump to the NFL 10 years into his coaching career, Saban 15. Aranda is about 20 years in.
Doesn't mean that he won't eventually go to the NFL, but I would bet you'd find a pattern that most NFL coaches who started in college made the jump earlier in their careers than where Aranda is right now. Obviously there are exceptions like Chip Kelly and Bobby Petrino.
