$5M per means an even more insane buyout and even less money for assistant coaches
no, you bump to 5 in return for getting rid of the buyout...

i think even the biggest of positigers would agree that $5M per year for miles is pretty insane
What is market value for a top 5 coach right now?

If he offered that same salary to Mullen, Patterson, or Pelini and he'd one of em.

5M is totally top scale. At 6M, TAF should help LM pack for AA. Then let the 3M Plus Incentives Malzahn, Mullen, Patterson, Petersen, Strong, Sumlin, Ferentz, etc..era begin in BR.
I've been a Negatiger at times, and still feel the 2006 BCS Title was botched away by the LSU Staff. But, also feel it's not the best current coaching market, and with LSU in position for a BCSNCG run in 2011, not the ideal year to switch schemes and playbooks and continuity. Thus at this point would prefer to keep Miles. But, at 6M, I say happy trails Les!
Gus Bus + Chief.. Mullen + Chief..Petersen + Chief..are mighty strong HC/Defacto OC + DC combos!

that's a scike rumor i think, so it's probably not true

very few coaches are worth $5M on the open market in CFB, brah
Did you want an answer to your question brah or did you just want to reread what you typed later on?

As much as I like Coach Miles, no one person can take a University like this hostage.
I'd be floating an offer around to the other top coaches just to see if theres any interest.
At one time Michigan was a dream job, now its just a disater.

4 Mil per year is a raise, and this is all I have seen discussed.
Incentives like SEC West, SEC, and National Championships could bring it closer to 5.
Reaching those goals given our division would be worthy of such an incentive.
I just don't see where there is anything to bitch about here.

At the rate of inflation for top coaches in top programs these days, 5 Mill is probably not too ridiculous a couple years down the road from now. Probably will be standard so whoever we get then, we'd have to pay that anyway.
Les drives the negatigers nuts, but we've had our best run in the history of the school with Les Miles including an NC and we're 11-2 this year in spite of the fact our OC and QB are harrrrrrible.
That might be enough to fix the buyout issue as well as keep what is obviously a top tier coach here when his alma mater is trying to call him home.
I'm OK with that. There's been too many programs over the years that have proven that the grass is not always greener with a different coach.

i think alleva will listen to the negamiles posters here on the rant and tell miles to take a flying leap and then go out and get saban b/c he loves louisiana sooo much.
then miles will be reminded how the negaterds wanted him fired when he was 6-0, how negative the ranterds have been all year, esp b4 the fl, al and olmiss games.
why are the negaterds not sticking to their guns?
where are you negaterds? only a couple of yall idiots are out.
negaterds, comon' you chickshits, speak up.

wow, i am mad about the negatigers who have no common sense.
how much did harbaugh just get??? 6m/yr.
p.s. $ is not as important as contract length.

I'd be OK with $5mil per
...as long as he agrees to 1yr contracts for the rest of time
