Maybe the next "layer" of cuts could be first-year OCs or OCs that work under an offensive-minded coach, where it's hard to tell who is really having an impact on the offense...
For example ... Sarkisian at Washington.

James Franklin was named HC in waiting at Maryland a year or so ago. Then again not sure if that is still the plan there after Fridge's 2-10 masterpiece

Joker Phillips is HCIW at kentcky. Mark him off.

took Joker Phillips off... also nixed Franklin at Maryland.
Can anyone confirm that he is still the Head coach in waiting? This is the first I have heard fo that, I just assumed that whole staff was getting let go at Maryland.

also marked off Michigan's OC... he seems to have followed RRod from West Virginia, and even with that said, I doubt Miles tries to pluck his alma mater's OC from them.

eliminated Washington and Washington State OCs...
Washington OC has only 2-years experience and Sarkisian is the leader of that offense.... Washington State just plain sucks, fans would riot if we hired anyone from Washington State.

eliminated Minnesota OC, Kansas OC, Colorado OC, Iowa State OC, Connecticut OC and West Virginia OC after looking at inexperienced resumes.

Ok... we've got it down to 35 names thus far....
After looking at the bios, are there any others that should be marked off?

I'd take out Dana Bible since he's underachieving with a great qb now and he hasn't been out of the northeast.
Steed Lobotzke also has no connections in the south and has not been coaching long enough by our standards.

Eliminated Labotzke...
Kept Dana Bible for now... his resume looks pretty impressive to me. Not necessarily the production, but the experience is pretty impressive.

eliminated Baylors' and Rutgers' Co-offensive coordinators because of inexperienced resumes.

you can take off Danny Langsdorf even though he would be a good fit and is only making 150k(was an assistant with the saints). He is from Oregon as is his wife and he has been with Riley for some time. Hell, we just need OSU's complete staff and we would be set.

Cool, thanks for the info. Eliminated him.
Any chance we hire Riley as the head coach in waiting?

As of now, my pick is Kragthorpe... I really think he would be successful at LSU as the OC.

What about the Buckeye's OC? Can he be marked off?
yes, for 2 reasons.
1) their offense sucks.
2) tressel is an offensive minded guy.

More guys I'd mark off:
Jeff Quinn - he's a Brian Kelly guy and Kelly calls the plays so I'd say that counts as "unproven".
Kurt Roper - works under Cutcliffe who is a QB and offensive mind. His first rodeo is Duke and it's Cutcliffe's O.
Dave Yost - this is his first year. Mizzou's OC got hired somewhere last year. AND he's goofy looking.
Ken O'Keefe - he's been at Iowa for 10 years and Ferentz is an offensive guy. I think those two will stay together.

I'd take off Bryan Stinespring at Va Tech because their offense has never been anything great and Andy Ludwig because Tedford is the real OC/QB developer.
