The close to this class is very important to the future of the program. If we start to slide and Bama, ATM, etc. keep raiding us for top talent, could be rough.
8&4 didn’t raid Louisiana. They got 1 kid from Louisiana that never wanted to come here to begin with. They raided Texas. Alabama raided us, but they were only able to do it because O basically ran the program into the f’n ground.

All things considered, what Brian Kelly did in the short time he’s been here has been pretty damn good. He kept the entire class together(with the exception of 1 receiver) added a day one starter at left tackle, a couple of in-state sleepers and a player that has the potential to be an all world defensive lineman before it’s all said and done.

If he can finish with Mathews, Citizen and Danny Lewis and hit the portal hard, it’ll be an absolute win for LSU.

The only culture that matters is the culture of the program that you are building. The social culture in which you live is irrelevant.

Thank you. People hear culture and think that means the lsu coach must know how to boil crawfish and can pronounce lafourche. We want a culture of winning, hard work, and accountability. That's what lsu wants and Brian Kelly sure as shite fits that

He's only a couple years older than when Saban went to Bama.

So Kelly has won at every level, but he “may crap the bed” at LSU??

Only special LSU fans have this logic
this. If anything, Kelly is a safe bet to be at worst...average

Being average is crapping the bed. Of course he will be at least average.

It’s not unreasonable to question the fit

Yea we should’ve hired a guy from down the bayou that talks like us because the fit is better. . . Oh wait we just fired that guy.

“Fit” is the most overrated feature to a coaching hire. Winning fits everywhere. If are a good coach that can articulate your vision well you can implement your culture into any program no matter where you are from and where that school is.

I put culture in the same boat as eye test. People don’t talk about either one if you’re winning.
agreed. I'll add to it though in regards to "fit", cultural or not:

Leaders determine the culture, they do not have to fit a damn thing. People have to fit theirs.

BK is not a good "cultural fit" for LSU. How is it different from Saban's? Don't we want a culture of excellence and winning?

I wasn't on the BK boat to start with either but he is exactly who LSU needed. Now I think it's the best hire since Saban.

The last thing LSU needed was another moron head coach like Kiffin or Tucker they needed a general to lead this program. I have agreed with every move they have made so far, lots of heads needed to roll after what happened the last two years.

At the time of the hire he’s better than Saban was in 2000
He’s the best hire at the time of the hire LSU has ever made in any sport except Kim Mulkey

Brian Kelly is ten times the hire Nick Saban was then.

This is such a ridiculous take Probably half of ND's roster is from the SEC footprint and most of those kids were 4*

Bullcrap. I looked at the 2021 roster. There are 27 players from SEC states. So, not half. Plus, consider the academic restrictions placed on ND recruiters, and BK will be able to get much better football players .
