And it comes down to Kelly vs. Harbaugh in the end, whom do you choose?

Harbaugh has proven he can perform at a well established academic institution with high standards
seems like a no brainer

Can ND afford to have JH leave for Michigan in a few years?
I would dangle as much money as needed in front of UM or NS or both. See which one blinks first.

I can't deal with any of this shite. I first have to find out how I became an entire university.

Harbaugh said NO. End thread.

It won't, I believe B-Scoop is right, its Saban or Meyer.

ND won't consider Harbaugh. That was a bogus report by the NYT. He's a Michigan grad with NFL coaching aspirations.
I think ND has Kelly 3rd on the list behind Stoops and Meyer. Meyer's family is settling in and FL so I think he'll stay.
Stoops flirted for a while with ND, but backed out. The rumor on ND boards is that ND's AD is going to be the next NCAA President and that scared Stoops that the AD was going to be leaving soon.

Kelly, but I'm a big Kelly fan.

I would also be calling Jim Grobe. I don't get why he's not a candidate. Harbaugh would be my top choice, but he ain't coming.

The problem is they have tried the offensive coach. It didn't work out. Defensive minded coach is the answer

Just because Kelly is being interviewed doesn't mean much. Harbaugh would be a better pick but he already said he ain't goin. Don't be surprised if someone comes out of retirement to get the job. Too many damn good coaches out there to jump on the most mentioned coach in CFB this year IMO.

He's 17-19 at Stanford. Is this your definition of "performing"? I don't get the Harbaugh-mania. He's beaten USC twice, and that's cool, but otherwise not a consistent winner.

Didn't they already get a coach from Stanford and fire him after three years? I don't know if they go that route again. I mean the same things that are being said about Harbaugh (academic requirements, turning the program into a factor, etc.) are the same things people said about Ty Willingham.
