If you're Herman, do you pick a team that is 8-3 or one that is 3-8?

Assuming money is the same.
Dude is supposed to be smart.
I'd thinking turning around a dumpster fire and all of the surrounding negativity wouldn't be very appealing given the alternative.
Having an opening at an 8-3 type team in a Power 5 conference can't come along very often.

With Alpha males like that of a Herman, Meyer, Saban, Harbough etc, etc, etc.... I truly don't believe they feel there is a challenge they can't conquer. I don't think Herman will be afraid of the challenge at UT, matter of fact you could also look at the downside from a 3-8 team is not much where the upside is huge.
Either way, when UT gets into the race officially it is going to be very difficult for LSU whether anyone believes that or not. I keep putting this out there my buddy, wish I could put his name out so people can google him then you would understand. He has stated to me that they are going to give Herman anything he wants to make sure he goes to Austin.

Do you pick a school that took a 28-21 coach and helped him go 114-34
or the school that took a 37-15 coach and helped him go 14-18

The risk/reward from Hermans perspective is interesting.
If he goes the 8-3 route, he's looking at trying/needing to improve on that.
If he goes the 3-8 route, a winning record would be progress.
Though, if he is a true competitor, maybe he'd prefer to go up against Alabama, Auburn, etc vs playing in Ames, Iowa or Manhattan, KS. Dunno.
The UT guys souring on him after the last 3 weeks?

I didn't know Herman coached in NFL or won NC in college football.

I love how the Mensa thing is made out to be a big deal.
If intelligence were relevant Derek Dooley would have an SEC title under his belt by now.

If LSU wants Herman they better get that checkbook out pretty quick.
Personally, I believe he is a risky choice for a big league HC job. Not enough skins on the wall.
I would take Justin Fuentes over Herman.

So you think a coach taking over a 3-8 team is stupid? Imagine some idiot taking over a team that was 3-8 and had 8 losing season in the previous 11 years and hadnt won a. National Title in over 40 years.
