lol, he dont even have a DC job. must be some issues otherwise he would be a DC somewhere

AS others have pointed out to you, that was his choice. Here are what make peope think he may be an elite DC.

He was the Wisconson DC & DB coach from 2017-2022 (Interim HC for part of 2022)

2017 - #2 total defense, #2scoring defense, #3 passing defense, #4 Opponents third down conversions per game

2018 - #24 total defense, #27scoring defense, #19 passing defense, #39 Opponents third down conversions per game

2019 - #4 total defense, #8scoring defense, #11 passing defense, #2 Opponents third down conversions per game

2020 - #4 total defense, #9scoring defense, #31 passing defense, #2 Opponents third down conversions per game

2021 - #1 total defense, #3scoring defense, #3 passing defense, #4 Opponents third down conversions per game

2022 - #9 total defense, #24scoring defense, #30 passing defense, #19 Opponents third down conversions per game

Imagine for a minute JD and this offense with that defense. Or Nuss with the offense we saw in the bowl game.

I don't know what to expect as DC but Leanard would be a home run, IMO.

Exactly. Kelly should make him say no.

I love how this lie is continually passed around.

One of Fick's first hires, if not his first, was Tressel for DC.

He met with Leonhard, AFTER having hired his DC, and offered a "Co-DC" position or some such that everyone with a brain knew he wouldn't take, including Fick. The offer was only made because so many in the fanbase were screaming about Jimmy leaving.

Leonhard wasn't staying after getting passed over for HC.

eta-He doesn't like to recruit and isn't great at it. Did you see how slow UW's LBs were in the bowl game? Those are the LBs his regime left behind. (We've taken 5 in the portal so far.)

And his defensive rankings were helped by Chryst's sit on the ball style of offense. Much like Iowa.

He's a good DC, but I don't think he's the best out there by any means. Not in college anyway. Would like to see what he can do in the pros.

He turned down the Packers to stay at UW. He wasn't offered the job this season as the job wasn't open.
