If Woodward is an evil genius...

This is all hypothetical. . . but it's fun. I'll start.
If Woodward is an evil genius, he:
A.) While at Texas A&M, sees the debacle of how Alleva handles the post-Les Miles hire, and says to himself, "I bet that guy gets canned. I'd love to be AD at LSU, so how can I set LSU up for years of success from my current spot? *Hires Jimbo Fisher*
B.) Knowing OU and Texas are joining the SEC, how can I make a situation where OU has to pay so much for their coach that they can't get rid of him? (not worried about the dumpster fire in Austin) *Leaks info about offering Riley*
C.) *Hires [insert name here] powerful, proven coach to lead LSU to unprecedented success.*

My conspiracy theory is that Riley is being pushed by Sec and ESPN. We can pay so high cause they are back dooring the money for the hire. Purpose is to create a secondary rival for Oklahoma when they come to Sec. Think kiffin going back to Tennessee.

Yes, but once every 3 or 4 years, and in the mix for both every year.
I do not know Woodward, and I have no sauces, but I have zero doubt that his goal is to rival Alabama in terms of sustained success as a program, over a decade plus period of time.
I'm as eager to see who this ends up being as anyone.

I was always of the opinion he (orgeron) only ever got the job in the first place as a potential fall guy for the title XI stuff that everyone knew was coming down the pipe. Its why they didnt get a "serious" coach despite all the damn talent on the roster.
Then 19 happened and Orgeron kinda painted LSU into a corner. His antics undid all of that, sadly (I say sadly because had this asshat just stayed out of his own way he truly could have built a legacy).
Its also why the coaching search really started the minute Woodward walked onto campus -- complete with NDA's all around for anyone involved. O was always a dead man walking.
