Campbell is the B/C guy who I think would require that sort of commitment. He's had NFL offers and is rumored to be a candidate for the Bears. We're going to have to pay out of the arse to compete with the NFL and keep him in CFB.

Les's conservative bullshite cost us dearly in 2006

Ah yes, 2006 the unforgivable sin that Les didn't win the title. First of all you Les was not usually conservative in 2006. Saban had basically the same philosophy until what 2015? Coaches are generally conservative.

2nd of all we lost 2 road games to top 10 teams one of which (Auburn) bad calls unlucky breaks were bigger factors and the other was to Meyer (the best coach outside of Saban this century) and a team that went on to win it. As a side note about remember the 2009 SEC CG? Florida and Meyer with a Tebow as a Sr got shut down, shite happens.

Almost cost us in 2007

the only conservative thing that cost us was not running Scoot in the 2nd H vs UK, the defense cost us Ark but we still won so who cares?

hen 2008-2012 our offense was bleh. It was only good in 2013 even with insane talent, and then it fell off the face of the planet again.

But we won a lot games including some big ones which is ultimately the point. 2008 was a bad year, but we improved in 2009 (7 wins to 9, 3 SEC wins to 5) and then 2010 were borderline elite and 2011 and arguably 2012 (until the bowl doink) were elite, that's what you want. I get the offense was awful and hard to watch at times but don't insult me and say you be cool with identical results just a better offense.

it was circa 2014-15 when Saban realized he had to change, Miles didn't that's why he should have been fired when he was was (or the end of the year before really) but overall his tenure was a success, that's just a fact. And I believe like Clay Travis said if Saban stays in the pros (what if he signed Brees or better drafted Rodgers instead of Ronnie Brown) Les has at least 1, if not 2 more titles.

I think he may be better in the NFL than at LSU. In terms of pure coaching, he's elite. It's the philosophy and recruiting that are the major question marks in my eyes

fair enough those are legit questions. At least he's a great coach, not sure what exactly there is to say about Stoops

Stoops is Campbell-lite, but we can probably get Stoops for a deal where we can fire him if he sucks. We won't with Campbell

Maybe we should call him The Big Whiffer.
