Cause Chavis is THE defensive coach at LSU,He was damn good at Tennessee as well,Saban is the straw that stirs the Bama defense,make no mistake about it..
Smart is a fine coach,but I would take Chavis over him..

I'd be leary of hiring Kirby Smart as a HC. former Saban assistants don't have the best track record so far...
Haywood, Muschamp, Fisher, Dooley, Williams... I think Dantonio was on his staff at MSU though

I think Kirby needs to go to another program as a DC, or find a smaller college to prove himself. I agree with you. If a bigger program hires him based on his Bama gig alone, they may be disappointed.
I would say the verdict is still out on Boom & Fisher though.
