We don’t have the talent and depth Alabama has.

Talent yes, depth maybe not. But he would be the biggest DC hire IMO and we would ball in 2022.

He'll just go back to Bama I'm sure. Golding isn't that good anyways.

His defenses at UT weren’t exactly great and I like the idea of a guy like Freeman, who put together excellent defenses with minimal talent, getting to execute a defense with top tier talent. If Freeman says no, you definitely look at Pruitt, but I don’t think expecting the defenses he had at Alabama to be the norm here is fair.

This makes zero sense. You take Pruitt over Freeman any day of the week.
And this is why
Pruitt
Freeman

Pruitt runs a 3-4

Do you people really not see what defense these people run before posting?

One was the DC at Alabama under the greatest coach in history and the other is at Cincinnati.

You really don’t understand the difference? I bet you were a big Pelini guy.

Pruitt also helps with recruiting, so its a win win honestly.

We shouldn’t wait for him that long.

I think Freeman will be named no later than Monday, and I'm perfectly fine with that.

If, by some stretch, Freeman turns his nose up and Pruitt becomes available...I'm perfectly fine with LSU pursuing Pruitt. But, I believe Saban will try to wrangle him in some capacity.

The great part of this whole coaching carousel is that we're layering the staff behind O with guys that are capable of running or growing into running a program with the talent and ties that LSU has - great opportunity for these guys but also a great insurance policy if things go sour and the market is really dry for a head coach.

I don't necessarily disagree with you but I do believe where he was coaching had a lot to do with who committed to him.

You really need to compare apples to apples.

If Pruitt is out at Tennessee, he's probably leaving with a ton of baggage attached. I'm not sure he would be immediately hire able. I mean, the sec wouldn't ok Bo Davis and it's been nearly 2 years since his show cause expired.

Alabama’s best talent comes from Louisiana, that’s an easy fix.

Those are my thoughts as well. He could be hired before a show cause was levied by the NCAA, but the SEC would never allow another school to hire him this offseason.

I don’t even think Birmingham would allow Alabama to hire him as an analyst this offseason, that’s how toxic Pruitt would be.

If he’s fired for cheating the SEC will black ball him. Saban tried to go after Freeze and Bo Davis at different times and the SEC said no.

Wasn't he on that MTV reality show with the coach who was leading a double life?
