Because the terms of an employment contract, like many contracts, are established by the dates set out in the contract; and the date on which the contract is signed has nothing to do with the effective dates of the agreement.

He can't sign an employment contract with another school until his Ole Miss contract is cancelled. That is fact.

I heard he wasn't able to sign this morning because docusign is down due to the cloudflare outage.

This is correct. Any contract has to be approved by the BOS at an official meeting. Now by the time it gets to that point it’s all but a done deal but people believing that he signed a contract yesterday is funny.

The fact anyone was reporting it as a done deal yesterday when he wasn’t even in Baton Rouge is amazing to me. The future highest paid coach in America is sitting down in person to sign that contract.
