If not Fisher, Mark Richt will be the next LSU coach

Mark Richt checks all the boxes listed by Alleva. Jimbo is probably the top choice, but Richt is high up on the list and it would not be surprising that he is the top choice.
I know did not win a national title at Georgia, but does have a couple of SEC titles, 6 division titles and 5 East runners up finishes in 15 years.
Now he would have a chance to be the dominant coach in the West when Saban retires in the next couple of years.
He is a more proven sustained winner than anyone they can hire from up and coming programs like Fedora or Gundy.
Given better resources and a different approach he can win big at LSU.
He is a developer of quarterbacks, proven recruiter, very spiritual person who impacts the lives of his players. Although Miami is his alma mater the Richt family i is not a fit in the Miami environment and would be much more comfortable in Baton Rouge.
Proven winner.
Look at Alleva's list and name any coach possibly available who matches it. Alleva was telling us something when he gave his criteria last week.

We'd be better off rehiring Miles

You can't get anymore Les Miles than Mark Richt.

Maybe but can you refute the logic. Sure there may that Saban in waiting somewhere, but unless they can pull a coach of Jimbo's stature everyone else is just a a much bigger unknown and gamble. I have said all along Richt is high up on the possible list.

He is now coaching at his alma mater where he can win easier than he could in the SEC. He is not going anywhere.

Has a chance to dominate the SEC within a few years when Saban retires or even next year when Texas finally lures him ( hoping against hope).
Alma mater yes, Richt family not Miami types.

This was my favorite part personally.

You think Georgia doesn't have comparable resources and a talent-rich recruiting base??
You don't know much.

I would swan dive off the upper level of the new bridge

Have not seen anything but smarmy sarcasm which permeates many (most) threads. So how about presenting PROVEN candidates who would be better choices. Not the latest flavor like Herman or Fleck. Yes, there are coaches like them who will be the next generation of elite coaches. Many thought Curley Hallman and Rich Rodriguez would be that coach. Charlie Strong, Butch Jones, Lane Kiffen etc.

He struggled to win the east when it was down, what makes you think he can win the west?
