La. ties but he hates LSU. This is not going to happen karma. I'm sure that dbag pete carroll has already placed a call. I'm just happy frank wilson is out of a job.
tenuta is now officially unemployed. go get him

I love Tenuta. He would be a great hire. He has been consider a head coach in the making for a while but never a) gets the nod or b) takes that nod. I'm not sure if he just has loyalty to GT or not but he appears to be tough to pull out of Georgia.
Bud Foster is another guy I love. I think he would be even harder to pull away from Beamer than Tenuta. But, I would love this guy. His style of ball with our talent equals fierce defense.
Obviously, Muschamp is a stud.
Charlie Strong is an interesting choice. You gotta think the semi demotion for Mattison has to rub him wrong, so that angle could be used to entice him.
Another name I would kick around would be Venables from OU. Again, he is a tough get. He and Stoops are great friends and why would he leave OU where he is the DC and Assistant Head Coach.
Even though these guys are tough get, I think we have to put out the feelers on them first. Then start looking elswhere.

Tenuta and GT 0-6 vs GA!!!!!!!! I know that we do not play them every year, but they are a SEC team that Tenuta has been going against every year and GA exploits them. Then if we do face them in reg season or SECCG then we might need to lookout
You're not saying the talent level at GT is comparable to that of LSU, are you? The guy can coach his arse off.

Exactly, don't paint Tenuta with Gailey's pitiful offensive showings which have cost the vast majority of the L's at G Tech.

Ogeron was a D-line coach at USC, not the defensive coordinator.
i know, that is exactly why i said

well i have mentioned him before but people brought up his lack of experience at that position
at times i have also thought with his d-line experience and the talent we have on that d-line he could so some scary things

No.
He's a great coach for sure, but 2 things -
1) OU's secondary has been shite since Mike Stoops left.
2) Venables is more a less a stand in at coordinator as Bob is the real mastermind.
3) He runs a zone blitzing scheme which I think would totally derail everything our players have been taught the past few years as far as bump and run stuff goes.

Phil Bennett should be considered. He has coached here before and knows the area. He was also a very good DC at LSU, Texas A & M and Kansas State.

Isn't that the point?

He was fired as Head Coach at SMU.

Ding ding ding. Young Reginald Ball was the QB in 4 of those games.
As far as talent and experience go though, I think Tenuta's D underachieved this year.

Is Tenuta really the real deal?
I like VanGorder, he's a linebacker coach with the Falcons right now.

His D is fun to watch. They really get after you. With our talent, he could make some serious noise. I think it was the Notre Dame game were the announcers were talking about his schemes and how he blitzes about 70% of the time. I've seen several of their games and he brings the heat from everywhere. The Qb definetly gets happy feet playing against them which would work well with our playmakers.

Que? We don't run bump-and-run coverage either.

coach Buddy Nix was a great D coach. Bring him back.

I forgot about him. He would also be an interesting choice. If I recall correctly, we played a very aggressive style of D when he was here.

Tenuta is a great DC. We don't get the recruits @ GT that UGAg gets. Plus our O sucks major balls. The only thing we can do is run the ball with Tashard Choice, and eventually people put 8 int he box and we can't do anything.
It's GT's D that keeps them in pretty much every game this season. And if you look at the times GT has allowed blowouts while Tenuta's here, it's usually the O giving the opponents D oppertunities to scores, and not the D getting burned.
I disagree, GT's front 7 have been amazing. They are a top 10 rush D and don't have the talent that most other schools on that list have.
The problem with GT's D this year is a crappy secondary, we just don't have talent at that position.
If Tenuta can get LSU caliber players in his system ... look out, they will own people.
