Who the hell do you think is responsible for all that talent at LSU???
YOU?
WTF is that supposed to mean?
The talent level at LSU is pretty damn good right now for any good coach to win right away with. The talent level at Michigan is not at that point. Any coach going there will have to right the ship. Not the same at LSU.
LSU is also the ONLY major football team in the state which has some of the most talent in the entire country and is next door to two states with simular levels in talent.
LSU ALSO doesnt have a big academic requirement that UM has.

Harbaugh blew this myth up a few years ago

Academic requirements to get into a university is a myth?
Maybe Harbaugh found smart players and is just a good coach???

Patterson
maybe but I doubt it since he's going to Big East and can auto qualify
Mullen perhaps
Pelini,
good shot
Fitzgerald
maybe but his ties run pretty deep there
or Petersen
0 percent shot IMO too invested in that area and is a west guy

Just saying he'd have to listen to LSU at the least. Would he come here? I don't know.
IMHO I think LSU would make an offer and TCU would counter with a raise and extension and then we'd have to move on from there.

But I think to say that there is absolutely no shot is sort of wrong.
Not saying no shot, but less than 5% chance.
Chances of getting coaches to LSU IMHO.
Bill Walsh, Bill Parcells and Bill Cowher < 0%
Gruden < 1%
S. Spurrier 1.25%
Petterson 4.75%
Bo Pelini 40%
Mullen 50%
D. Marrone 50%
Fitzgerald 52.5%
Butch Davis 55%
K. Whitingham 60%
Gus Malzhan 60% (depends on timing)
B. Hoke 72.5% (has a big buy out)
K. Sumlin 85%

Harbaugh called out Michigan a few years ago for basically lying about their academic standards for athletes. They get a ton of borderline kids in. That episode was why many thought that Harbaugh ever being at Michigan was a stretch

Because Michigan is VERY CHEAP ! They don't want to pay top dollar, but want a top coach. They think it should be a honor to coach at Michigan and they shouldn't HAVE to pay what other schools pay, they are better .

I went through Cholly Mac with a solid 8 wins a year and 9 every once in a while - don't wanna go there again - we have been steady with the HATTER!
No,not really... they all tought that they could get the "right" "better" guy in there next...

Yeah, and besides, if we're going after dead guys, The Bear would be my first choice anyway.

If Coach Miles leaves for Michigan i'm putting a good part of the reason he leaves LSU is because of all the bitching and caterwalling going on.
I hope he does not leave. Let well enough alone.

I think that might be Michigan's problem...since they have it in their head that it needs to be a Michigan man, they are really limiting themselves... LSU wouldn't have these same limitations...
Oh really? So when is the last time LSU opened the checkbook to grab a big name coach? LSU will have its own limitations to over come.

He wasn't a "big name" at the time, but when LSU gave Nick Saban $1.2 mill to come here, it was pretty much unprecedented.

I was hoping someone would catch that. I put that in there and grouped him with Parcells and Cower to emphasise how little of a chance we have.

Because this place is swimming with morons

because LSU fans do not need to have an LSU grad coach LSU.
they want someone who can recruit, coach, keep the rules, and the like. Hence LSU hired Les Miles who went to high school and played in Ohio, went to Michigan and got on the field and little more.
Coached at Mich, and Dallas Cowboys and Okie lite.
Welcome to LSU, Yankee.
Michigan has the "Michigan man" problem. They have some sort of insider cult going on. However Bo did things. Whatever that is, Miles knows it.
So his value is greater to Michigan than to any other location.

you say this like Miles has truely been welcomed with open arms, loved and appreciated these past years.

LSU has this cult mentality as well... it's just about hating a coach more for his mistakes than appreciating his successes, and knowing that the wrong QB is always starting...

My point exactly... They are all historied programs and have been, some more than others, very high profile HC jobs. They've all gotten rid of or lost coaches with the feeling that they were in the position to get a "slam dunk" replacement, and that all sorts of top notch coaches would drop their present job, grab their family and take the job with them if offered.....
Doesn't always happen.
