It's almost futile to hold a massive recruiting weekend just days before ESD without an OC and DC.

Kelly WANTS to have an OC, and DC before early signing day. Likely will happen.

I agree with that... it's hard to sell what you're going to do on either side of the ball if you don't have the point guy that'll be directing that side of the ball in place.

My random, uneducated guess is that something is leaked this weekend. Announced to the kids first, then leaked shortly thereafter.

What would prevent a chosen, but still coaching in the playoffs coordinator either flying in for the event this weekend or even participating via zoom with the invited recruits simultaneous to advising these recruits over the weekend?

I am not sweating this at all. Kelly is playing the long game. Hire the best guy for the long haul, not the best guy for the short-term optics.

Well, what's your alternative? We just hired a new HC.

We'll hire an OC and DC at some point in the near future. Half the people will love them and the other half will hate them.
