He is a great recruiter. He is the main guy that brought in Perkins.

great recruiter.

Does this really matter nowadays with NIL? To me it’s how much money can I make at a particular school and when can I play.

The days of being a great recruiter are rapidly becoming obsolete.

I wanted to initially downvote your comment (and I still did) but I guess there's some truth to this.

Rapidly becoming obsolete is a stretch because relationships will always matter. And while I'm sure NIL matters at least a little for every player, it's not everything to everyone. Some guys do care more about development or playing for championships.

Being able to sell a kid on your plan for them will always be crucial in obtaining talent.

A lot of the schools are throwing around the same amount of money and promises. You still have to build relationships to sell these kids and their handlers. It's just a different style of recruiting now.

I’m pretty sure that posting a question on the internet qualifies as “do your own research” these days, haha

Seems to me like recruiting is an unknown to you.

That’s okay. We should still try to recruit well. It’s better than not recruiting well.

See A&M, Texas.

They bought a bunch of cancer with so much money that Nick Saban bitched about it.
