Why?

I doubt it. Pelini gave an interview earlier this year talking about not interviewing for jobs unless he really wanted them and he was a real candidate (unlike the NU job last time around). I can't see him wanting USM after they dumped Bower on the cusp of all of those winning seasons. I can see Les asking him to come to UM if Pelini decides that there are no jobs out there that he wants. I would imagine that his list is Ga. Tech, Arky, NU and Washington State. Most of the other jobs --- Baylor, SMU, Duke --- are jobs from which your resume will not recover.

Can you read Nebraska's Rivals premium boards? They got some juicy headlines in the subject of their threads.

Yeah, because any bum can hold UF, their league leading defense and their Heisman trophy candidate to over 150 under thier season average. Fire the bum.

There is a step down, if I don't get the Nebraska job, I'll fall back on that great Southern Miss gig which probably won't pay that much more than what he was making here.

I think Bower was in the neighborhood of $500K.
