Do you really want Rich Rod with our personel? Rich Rod's offenses at WVU were built primarily to even the playing field between his team's talent and the big boys, as are all spread attacks. LSU has the big-time talent! So why not take it to the SEC and the world up the middle and with play-action. I don't like the idea of hiring Rich Rod because I don't like his system. I also think he's slimey. Remember the destroyed documentation in the aftermath of his leaving of WVU? How did he get Noel Devine eligible at WVU when the rest of the major college football landscape wanted him, but couldn't have him because of grade issues? Rich Rod has no loyalty and a large ego. It won't work.

dude, RichRod doesn't run what we need...it would be a terrible move. Richrod had great success at Tulane (bad conference) and WV (bad conference) why in the Hell do you think he can coach in the SEC? If you can't win in the Big 10, you have no business in the SEC...Stop and think please

so let me get this right: a coach with super high integrity hires a guy with almost none. Not going to happen.

The only thing that stopped the D-Rob led Wolverines was themselves this season.

Every team we played we had the ability to drive the ball.

But....isnt there always a reason why it didnt work? But......

1. Tooooo many dropped passes.

2. Denard getting too excited with an open play, and throwing up uncatchable balls. This is no joke...many wide open plays missed.

3. No RB to support Denard. At times the kid would start trying to force things.

4. Young players making mental errors. At times these errors drew drive killing penalties. Denard himself was a true sophomore first yr starter. He had the weight of the program on him besides. That is a lot to ask.

5. A defense that spent long periods on the field. The offense in turn would seem to get out of sync during their time on sideline.

6. Didnt have the mental toughness of an upper-classmen led squad. If we didnt convert on the first few drives, the kids confidence would waver, and their play would as well. A fine example is the Sparty game after the 2 ints at the goal line.

These are just a few things that stand out. Our offense would of been even better next yr, but the damage under RR was too much I think. It was time for a change to dump all the negativity.

The guy can coach offense. I have no doubts about it. It has to be his system, but his system will work.

I hope RR uses this off yr to become more familiar with defensive needs, and tailoring his system to the talent when need be.

I wish RR nothing but the best. I suspect he will do just fine at another BCS school.

Rich Rod? No friggin way!

LSU has become a legit pipeline to the NFL and we need a Pro-style offense to get the QB position up to speed with the rest of the talent.

yep.

The spread is a gimmick. You have to be able to run.
Notice what Oregon did from the 1 vs Auburn with the game on the line. Nada.

That's what worries me about the spread. Waaaay too dependent on the QB to run that offense. Michigan without Robinson, Auburn without Newton, and WVU without White: all offenses would struggle.
