IF (emphasis if) Tucker goes 4-0 or 3-1 in the next few weeks - it will be interesting

He can go 0-4 or 1-3 and that's ok it proves the majority of us on this board think he shouldn't be considered at all.
But if he pulls off some upsets it will make things interesting and I have a feeling a lot of people will change their tune.
Same can be said for Aranda if he wins out and beats OU somehow.
Still a lot of football left - but I look forward to seeing where our Tier 2 options finish off in the season.

I don’t have a “record “ need. His team will be significantly less talented than most of those 4. If his team loses but plays well, is well coached, does not quit, plays disciplined and few penalties. If the offense is competent and gets plays in on time, etc. that is what I’m watching.
A db can get beat by J. Chase and still be an excellent db. For example. Talent just won.

Its hard for me to believe the final games are what matters … Is Woodward really sitting back saying well I don’t know who I want so I’m going to base this hire on the last few games and that will decide the future of LSU football

I just don't see how you can consider tucker with this being his 3rd year as a head coach, and his first winning season.
The only reason aranda is intriguing is because at least to me it seems he was the adult in the room during 2019

The discussion is about fan perception, not Woodward's hiring practices.

I’ll definitely be paying close attention to what Baylor and MichSt do down the stretch.
For both coaches, it’s their first “non-first-year” season as HC, so important data IMO. I really don’t care what a coach does in his first season, that’s usually irrelevant IMO whether it’s good or bad.

Oh you can Guarantee it! It starts this weekend after MSU beats Michigan by 2 scores

We’ll see I guess, but I think Michigan and Ohio St will beat MichSt handily.
I think the bigger test for Tucker is to go 2-0 against Maryland and Purdue.
I think Penn St is their final game, but If they can go into that game 9-2 that’s an impressive second year IMO regardless whether they win or lose to PennSt.

I have a hard time believing the hire is going to hinge on a handful of games. Most, if not all, of the coaches on the list have a long enough resume to form a projection of what they could do at LSU.

Right, it's always between the numbers. Usually the latter ensures the former.

Mostly you’re probably right, but I do think with Aranda and Tucker this season’s results are part of the data. Certainly more important than some other coaches we may be looking at who are already established as successful.

Happens all the time. A team goes on a strong run at the end of the season and all of a sudden you have the hottest new coach for coaching searches. That's how you end up with busts like Herman. Hopefully it doesn't happen to us. I don't see the love for Tucker at all. I do not want another Saban coaching tree hire.
He doesn't make sense here either. He didn't win before this season and he's a DC minded coach which is the opposite of what LSU should looking to hire at the top right now. He would need to replace his OC each time he gets a good one and that's too risky relying on anyone to make consistent hires. Modern NCAA is all about offense not defense to win championships. Combine that with him being a Saban coaching tree option and yeah, I don't like him. I don't care if he wins out I still wouldn't like the hire.

It's crazy to me to have such a small window of vision when making a selection so important.
If you MUST have a black coach, Franklin makes a ton more sense. He's had success at multiple stops over much longer period of time.
Tucker is a joke.
