Before his team's game last night they had played 7 games. LSU has also played 7 games this season.

LSU has given up 105 points through 7 games.

The other guy's defense had given up 100 through 7.

His team has played the 5, 8, 4, & 2 ranked teams in the nation. Much tougher than LSU's schedule. Last night they added the 7th ranked team to their schedule and gave up 17 points.

117 points in 8 games. LSU 105 in 7 games.

As he would if he came to LSU.

Maybe after like 4 years we could see, but not right now. He actually came out and said I'm just doing what Aranda did. Basically if it ain't broke don't fix it.

I don't want a guy like that at LSU. He may turn out to be something great but at this point he's just an Aranda robot, which is not a plus, imo. Let's see him actually recruit and implement more of his own schemes over the next few years before anyone gets too excited.

Jim Reid from Boston College. Did an amazing job at Iowa and has Boston College defense playing at an amazing level.

ehhh ok they gave up some points lol. Granted he doesn't have talent comparable to LSU

It appears to be working.

Could be. But everybody knows Wisc does not have the caliber of players as LSU. Wisconsin has played a hell of a schedule and through five games he had out-performed Aranda.

I agree about their schedule, but i dont think the aranda comparison is fair. Aranda built the wisconsin d, and now had to change the lsu d from a 4-3 to 3-4. He also had the les miles offensive woes for the first four games. Even with that adversity he has put LSU as a top defense.

At best i would say you're comparing arandas developed defense (wisky) to his developing defense (lsu).

Didn't that guy struggle at his last gig before he came to Wisconsin?

Hold the frick up, you were the most ardent "hire Herman as LSU coach" I had ever seen. Herman had coached one season and four games when that started.

So you would hire a head coach with very little experience but your defensive coordinator has to have four years experience ???

This is your assessment of me for some reason. All our "discussions" were O vs Herman. I mean would i like him to be HC, sure, but i would be glad with many of the other options out there too.

I would hire him over certain people yes. Just like i would hire Wilcox over some other DCs. My only point (which had nothing to do with Herman) was his last USC defense was average at best, and this is Arandas defense he is just going plug n play on.

Im not saying he deserves no credit. Im just saying before he got arandas defense his dc time at USC was just kinda meh.

I'd like to have Bo Pelini back at LSU. I wonder how he's doing in his new gig?

They're 6-2 with one of those losses coming to West Virginia... Not bad for Youngstown State. Still don't really want him back.. too much of a hothead.. Only if we can stick him in the box lol. He's gotten some more heat with his new job since he blows up on officials pretty frequently. Just don't know how today's players will react to such a hard arse attitude.

You get Charlie Strong if available. It's a no brainer. Great recruiter, great D.C. in the s.e.c.
