I would welcome Jimbo with open arms

Would he be my first choice? No. I honestly don’t know who my first choice would be, though. Jimbo would do very well at LSU, though, and he would bring stability which we desperately need. He knows the expectations here and is not a bad coach at all. With the recruits LSU can attract, he could kill it here and I’d certainly feel better with him running the program vs an unproven Saban disciple from down the road.
Consider me in the Jimbo camp based on the current shortlist of candidates being tossed around.

People here just have Jimbo fatigue. He’s a good coach and we could do far worse.
If coach o and Les miles can win titles here he can win multiple.

If he brings his recruiting class with him, that fixes our OL depth, probably shoots us top 3, and guarentees us Perkins, Evan Stewart, Matthews, and some others. It would be a monster hire for the talent alone

Jimbo has had 3+ losses in 7/11 completed seasons as a head coach. That’s a problem.

All of this. People will feel better once the football starts with him at the helm. Jimbo would be terrific at LSU.

That is a contradictory story you just wrote because your first choice is Jimbo even though you said you don’t know who your first choice would be. Go figure that out

Agreed.
He is an excellent recruiter. Will probably salvage our class and supplement it with some aTm recruits. Hell, he’ll probably bring along some aTm transfers that only went to that hell hole of College Station because of him.
He values the trenches. So, line play on both sides will improve.
He’s also a solid offensive play caller. Not Joe Brady innovative. But, with the passage of time, I think we’re learning that 2019 was more about Joe Burrow than Brady. Also, for those bagging on Jimbo’s offense relative to Lincoln Riley, have you guys actually watched an OU game? Not that dissimilar.

I think he’s a home run. But we looking for a grand slam. I want him to save this recruiting class and keep in tact the rest of the team we have. If he can do that then I’ll be excited about the hire. Also the Aggie melt will be glorious.

Delusion. It’s you guys.

I wouldn’t. Not because I think Jimbo is a bad coach. But because I don’t think his level of success (two really good years at FSU, slightly above average at A&M…relative to expectations) would justify the HUGE contract LSU would no doubt have to give him to leave A&M. Woodward would essentially be bidding against his OWN absurd contract.
Given that both Miles and O won NCs here, I rather go with a younger guy than have to grossly overpay for Jimbo. There are some guys you consider overpaying for. Jimbo isn’t one of them.
