That's a gross over-simplification.

Give me a break. How many convincing wins did we have this year? We could just as easily be 7-5 this year, and you know it.

Obviously, you're a "glass half full" kind of person.

That's ashame...

As long as we're playing the "what if" game...

We could just as easily be 13-0 this year, an you know it.

The same can be said for your post. LSU plays in a conference that sends a disproportionate number of players to the NFL. We're the best team in that conference and we won that conference championship. The fact that some of the games were close is a testament to the strength of our conference. When we played the champion of the ACC (and a top 5 team), we blew them out 48-7.

You also fail to account for the rash of injuries we incurred this year, which cost us one of the top WRs in the country for 5 games not to mention our starting QB and the best player in college football.

In a system in which only the top 2 teams have an opportunity at the end, you need some luck and some breaks. We were fortunate to get those. But Les and the staff have done a damn good job recruiting and coaching and putting us at the precipice of a second national title in five seasons after achieving only one of those in our previous 100 or so.

Actually, we are MUCH closer to being 13-0 than 7-5. 7-5 would require at LEAST three plays going dramatically differently. 13-0 would just require one FG at Kentucky about two feet to the right and one dropped pass by an Arkansas receiver on 4th and 10. Or one less stupid Tyson Jackson penalty at Kentucky and one step better coverage on 4th & 10 vs. Arky. Etc., etc., you get the point.
