Timing makes more sense for it to be Herman. This seems very choreographed.

Texas and him could have made a deal last night. But I do agree this is too soon for us if it were O.

We just don't know.

I'm sure of this: if Herman goes to Texas, Applewhite will absolutely be available to coach at LSU.

I think you will disappointed. Texas and Herman played LSU for all they could. It's going to be O. Hell I don't know why even bother with the press conference.

I'm guessing it could be two things:

1. Herman deal has been in place before yesterday and LSU was waiting for U of H to play ther last game (which they played yesterday) before announcing they hired Herman.

Or

2. LSU knew Herman and Fisher weren't going to happen and they offered the job to Orgeron yesterday when they had their meeting, and are going to announce it today.

I agree I think it's Herman. No reports of Texas making offer. Charlie strong hasn't even been fired. Lsu made it obvious he was who they wanted. A coach of that caliber will not sit around and beg for a job.

Wasn't LSU also supposed to meet with Herman today?

FWIW, a people here in Texas flipped big time from "Herman is all Texas" to "Lsu can have Herman, look who lost too!" yesterday. They think Herman to Lsu is a done deal.

I'm thinking this is what's going on:

LSU has had the Herman deal in place for at least the past few days.

They were going to plan to announce it on Saturday after U of H played on Friday because they didn't want any distractions.

They had a meeting with coach O on Friday, the day after LSU's last game to let O know that they were going with Herman and see if they could keep O on the staff.

The day's work out.

It would not make sense even for Texas to have one candidate... Their coach has yet to be fired. The firing was not a sure thing until after the Kansas loss. Texas, it would seem would do a little more searching than just have one guy for U of H as their candidate.

I have no sources-- Herman had a gentleman's agreement with LSU when they fired CLM. The leaked info on Thursday complicated matters but did not change the "deal." Meeting with CEO was to honor the agreement made when CEO became interim HC.

CEO stays in place at LSU as asst HC and recruiting coordinator. Aranda stays.

Of course, this is all my guess and for anyone that had "inside sources" that said the deal was done with Jimbo-- please explain why this board should trust you again. I'm sure there will be a great "reason".
