I probably misunderstood, but did Lou Holtz hint that Spurrier might go?

I was just watching ESPN and he was talking about Connor Shaw. He said the only bigger loss for SC this year is Steve Spurrier leaving.

I realize that may have been saying "The only thing bigger for them to lose would be Spurrier", but the way it was phrased was odd. Anyone else hear it?

Also, it was Lou Holtz, so he may have been ordering a pizza.

Spurrier's at the age where you have to be on retirement watch. Although I really think he would give a heads up to people and not just quit after the bowl game.

Holtz was saying that Conner Shaw will be a big loss for Carolina and the only Spurrier would be bigger loss if he was to leave. Basically saying that the 2 most important people for the program are Shaw and Spurrier.

That's what I thought, but I'm guessing you heard it. It did sound a bit like he'd let something slip or was saying it might happen.

Like it or not he's going to leave soon. He's not going to be able to do it much longer, and he's not going to hang on past his usefulness.
