I don’t understand the purpose of closing this board

Why not leave this board open? Replace the soccer board or whatever is needed. Coaching changes are relevant almost year round, and it’s interesting to talk about the potential openings for the following season I.e. who’s on the hot seat, who’s the next big name.

NBA coaches and NCAA basketball will soon be coming, but those don't carry as much weight to many folks here.

Closing it gives it the mystique that helps makes this board the best one on this site

There's something exciting about the first firing (usually in early November) and coming to TD to see if this board is open yet. When active I view this board as much as any other on the site.
