After the debacle at the end of last season, I think they had their list ready. After the Wisconsin loss, they made the decision to fire Les and started making calls. After the Auburn loss, they decided not to wait until the end of the year. I am guessing either Hermann or Jimbo is already a "secret commit." Only reason besides utter stupidity (which is also plausible in this case) to fire Miles only four games in.

The do. Right now he is interim HC. Will be made permanent later as long as things improve the rest of the season.

Why would ANY top candidate commit today midseason? Why not wait for more leverage as the season goes on?

I'm sure that he'll get the shaft like he did at USC. Hell i'm sure he knows as much and it will be reflected in the product out on the field for the remainder of the season.
