Has he earned a second chance yet?

I’d rather not go from one controversial figure to the next. LSU needs to hire someone with no baggage that is just interested in coaching football and doing it the right way. He’s already been wrapped in one recruiting scandal. I doubt LSU wants to continually have to worry about shite like that.

A lot of people talking about Kiffin. To me, you might as well go Freeze if that’s the case.

I wouldn’t want either. Freeze is surrounded by controversy and Lane is worried about his own image and ego above all else. No thanks. Give me someone like Dave Aranda who has no controversy and isn’t interested in his own media coverage.

Agreed. Hey, I'm all for giving a guy a second chance, problem is we have our own baggage to expiate. Another program will have to give him that second chance.

Freeze is and has been my #1 choice from day 1. Anyone who says he’s a pos, etc has never made mistakes I guess? If you also think that every program in America including LSU doesn’t pay for shady shite then you’re delusional. He would absolutely dominate for years to come at LSU.

He took liberty to a bowl for the first time in school history in his first year, and went 10-1 last year there.

Just put a clause in his contract that we wont ask him about his use of escort services and he wont tell. It's not like he's the only married born again Christian to use an escort... that's a multi billion dollar business. Who cares?

Didn’t he just lose to ULM as a 32 point favorite?

That's cool. Since everybody loves to bring up Saban. Didn't Saban lose to ULM?

It's just one game man. ULM suddenly has won 3 games. I have no idea how, but Freeze isn't out for me just because Liberty lost to them. He would absolutely crush it here.

I understand this, but I really can't see him making the same mistake again. If anything I actually think he is a more safer hire, because of his past mistakes. He has owned his mistakes and knows it almost cost him his entire coaching career. He really wants to redeem himself.

In fact this is a quote of his, "Accept the discipline, own everything, and move forward." He knows a part of the world will never want him to move forward and to always live in the past.

One thing I really like about Hugh Freeze is his relationship with his players. Anytime he is asked about his players he starts out by talking about how wonderful of a person they are. That has to mean a lot to his players. When he was hired by Liberty he was determined to bring them to a bowl game, because they never had been to one before. He wanted the players to experience that type of joy. He has a genuine compassion for others.

I know many will never like him, because he is a christian and had a fall. However, those people should understand he actually doesn't shove it down others faces. He has stated that Liberty does not require anyone to believe what they believe. He just wants them to understand they are going to be around others who do believe.

Everywhere he has been he has set all sorts of records. He is a tremendous coach. Even going back to Arkansas St. I wish he could at least get an interview.

quote:

In 2011, his only season as head coach at Arkansas State, he led the Red Wolves to a 10–2 record and their first Sun Belt Conference title since 2005. The Red Wolves' offense averaged 447.8 ypg (28th nationally, 1st in Sun Belt Conference) including 293.6 ypg passing and 154.2 ypg rushing
