How would you feel about PJ Fleck?

…and before you dv the question…
How would you feel about PJ Fleck if he didn’t have his row the boat gimmick?
Consider the job he’s done at Western Michigan. Had their first undefeated season since WWII. Top MAC recruiting classes while at WMU.
He had MINNESOTA 11-2 in 2019. Covid year, I don’t care about. This year, an 8 win season. This is above and beyond expectations for the Gophers.
So take away his gimmick and how this board loves to call it “rah-rah”, how can someone not be impressed on the job this guy has done at 2 perennial losing programs?
Probably not even on the list because if it were him, I’d imagine it would have been announced by now. Unless Riley was the #1 choice and they’re circling back to whomever was on the list behind him.
Just throwing that one out there.

But I like Fleck. Not sure he'll leave the Midwest though, depending on the custody situation with his kids.

He'd have to come up with a new pop psychology/cult culture gimmick, because the 4- and 5-star recruits you sign at LSU aren't gonna buy Row the Boat.

It's tough to judge him without the gimmick because, for better or worse, it's so much a part of his style.
He's another rah-rah CEO style motivator who has never ran one side of the ball. He's a program and culture builder, not necessarily an Xs and Os guy.
