How successful would Saban still be as a recruiter?

Would you trust him if he was in your house telling you he'd be at LSU for a long time?

Saban will always do fine as a recruiter. Honestly, if your son had the skills to go to the NFL who better to prepare him for a few years? It's a chance any parent would have to be willing to take.

it would take him about 4-5 years to get back on solid footing in regards to recruiting.

every coach in the SEC will use his "commitment" issues to one school against him until he stays at one place for a long time.

edit: which is why I am against him coming back - along with him being a complete douche.

Apparently Bobby Hebert didn't think so, neither did Sidell Corley's dad & Phelon Jones dad.

No it didn't. All he has to do is run down a list of guys he coached that are on NFL rosters and kids will forget all about the past.

I thought about this. With some good PR, he could explain it to kids this way "look at what I went through to get back here, public scorn and the press eating me alive, 1 mill or so pay cut, sign my life away, that is how bad I wanted to be back here. That is how great it is here.
