How much was Strong's raise?

Did he really get 4 mill a year raise? I heard someone say he didn't even get a raise or something earlier. Said that he said himself that he didn't...What's the story on this?

I think he said he didn't get a raise, if I remember correctly.

There comes a point when even though Strong was likely the best candidate out there, is he worth the money Tennessee was willing to pony up. 4 mil a year...for charlie Strong? I'm not too sure about that. And how much would HIS buyout have been? UT fricked themselves by giving Dooley 5 mil. It certainly is a mess.

I read that he wanted raises for his assistants, and he got that, plus some other promises of facilities improvements in the near future.

Ok thanks. Have a delusional Vol fan trying to hang on to the Gruden pipe dream. He is saying UT never really offered him officially. Just smoke hahaha

Honestly, you have to admire Strong for staying put. Sad thing is, if Louisville struggles in the ACC, you think the powers over there will show him the same loyalty?

He did not get one according to words from his mouth at his press conference.

Jurich said money was not even discuessed. He just promised him he would make it worth his while to stay...his exact words..."your daughters won't go without lunch money tomorrow"...

I have heard from a friend that goes to Louisville grad school that the word on campus is he made them put on paper a few things:
-Promise to upgrade ALL football related facilities
-Raises for his assistants
-No raise for him, but at least 5 more years added to his contract
Good for Strong. It is admirable to me when someone wants to be "the guy" that turned a program into a power house i.e. Bobby Bowden. The Godfather of a program.

8 years is ridiculous after one.

He'll be gone after next year. Anyone who adamantly says he is happy at a school, yet interviews with two other schools within a week, and trashes his own fan base, won't stick around long. Contracts are meaningless pieces of paper.

Enough to cover his move to Florida?

There is some talk about 3.3 per for 8 years at Louisville and that Tennessee was at 4 per for 5 years.

Waaaaay overpaying. Just because he's at top of some lists doesn't mean he's worth that much money.

24-14 overall record.
13-9 in conference.
No thanks....It's the big east..

He has turned them around and made sustainable success there possible.
Its all about the process (I know, I know) and Strong is doing it right from the ground up.
