If you are asking if Miles would have taken the job if the timing was better. Then yes.
LSU making it to the big game has really hurt Michigan and Miles for that matter if his ultimate goal is to coach at Michigan more so than a shot at winning the NC.

Miles will have both.
Unless Michigan hires a new coach, sometime around the 8th or 9th Miles will be Michigan's new coach.
Miles' new LSU contract does not "lock" him up.

I think Miles owes it to himself to sit down and listen to Michigan. If they low-ball him, tell them he still loves Michigan but he has much bigger opportunities here at LSU, he's busy, and have a good day!

I wish it still was not reported. Now, LSU has to wait and see who Mich hires. If LSU loses Miles after the bowl game, then we are screwed. We are almost definitely going to have to get a NFL coach like JDR. Whose going to leave their school that late in the game to come to LSU??

Had ESPN not reported it, and he was actually offered the job and told it was his, and we lost the SEC title game, I definitely think he would have taken it.
