How big of a recruiting force would Tucker be at LSU?

Not saying to hire him. Have to think he would dominate on the trail

What leads you to think this? The bulk of his success this year has been due to the transfer portal. You’re not gonna sustain that every year.

Not too bad for a team in the 40s before he arrived

He’s been a great recruiter everywhere he’s been. Worked under Kirby and Nick and brought in great recruits. Navigated the portal to improved his team.

He may not be as qualified for the job like others candidates are but no question he’d wreck things in recruiting.

I see a lot of defense on that list.

Which makes sense considering he was a DB coach and DC

Well he’s been a defensive coach his whole career

It's insane to me that some people on this board can't give Mel Tucker credit for anything he has done in his career, unless it's negative.

I'm not saying hire the guy at LSU but people who are saying he isn't a good recruiter are just absurd.

Raymond and Joseph recruit both sides of the ball. Truly elite recruiters do both.

if you go look at Raymond or Josephs top recruits the VAST MAJORITY are on their respective sides of the ball with others sprinkled in from the opposite side. Just like Tucker.

I think we need to look past recruiting at this point. O is a great recruiter. How is his coaching?

It is just as wild to me how people are so defensive about him. It would be nice to see what he does for a few years before getting a job like LSU.

Pretty sure Alabama and Georgia recruit just fine without him. If not better.

What are you referencing here???

He is currently 46/50 on team recruiting rankings according to 247 and their composites.

Baylor is 41/27 for comparison.

My concern with Tucker is I don’t see any QBs worth anything committed.

If he could come in and show marked improvement, he would be welcomed in a lot of Louisiana homes for sure.

Would like to see what his Cordinators would look like philosophy wise.
