I'd love a homegrown DC but this is first season doing DC. I believe Dan Campbell has taken over D play calling. That was reported a month ago, but last night it seemed like Sheppard was calling plays.
He needs a bit more experience calling plays IMO. He doesn't have to deal with too many running QB's in the NFL. That would likely be a challenge he would have to deal with in the SEC.

No he's calling the offensive plays
