It's irrelevant man
Regardless it's Houston
He can do better things with better talent and this level of defensive talent
You realize many great coaches had ugly losses in their first HC gig
At least he's beaten much superior teams
You are truly discounting how many inferior teams they have beaten in two seasons

They aren't that good to begin with.. it caught up to them and they absolutely distracted with in their minds.
LSU is going to win 9 games with a competent coach to begin with
Let's see what they can do with a guy who can develop qbs and utilize elite talent and scheme running over the Arandas and Sabans of defenses with more talent

Just looking at the responses in this thread, so many idiots out there. Herman is a no-brainer, and the O fans are low energy as hell.

Herman is the guy who got all the credit for taking it to Aranda and Saban
OSU actually started off slow offensively without him but they have got their groove back., still not the same though at times..
Herman is the guy Kiffin consults among many others.
I don't know why you are against him just because what Houston does moving forward
LSU already wins on talent alone regardless but he can at least scheme against the big boys
LSU on talent would win those games that Houston may not have..
There's no perfect coach but there's two of the brightest minds on both sides of the ball in Herman and Aranda

You are just one of those blind types who can't recognize quality, that's all. I'm sure you'll get your wish of getting the Cajun who is not a candidate at any major program, though.

You're right. A guy in his first job ever as head coach and loses to Navy and SMU and struggles against Tulsa and UCF when he has a much more talented team. I don't know what is wrong with me that I can't see the greatness that everyone else does.

Your preferred candidate went 3-21 and only beat two teams with a winning record in his last stint as a full-time coach. And you have the nerve to talk about Herman chunking a few games at Houston, having beaten multiple ranked teams. Herman won his conference, narrowly missed the playoffs, and beat Florida State in the Peach Bowl in his first year.

His USC team did go to a bowl game. He resigned instead of coaching them. I don't know if I am an O guy or not.
But for LSU to consider Herman is just stupid. The guy will be lucky to be the coach at Houston in a year if he doesn't pick it up. Houston fired their last coach after he was 8-5 in his last two seasons. Herman will be lucky to get that good of a record next year.
Hermster has been winning with the other coaches players, well until the last four games, and next year he will have fewer of them. Losing to SMU is a bad sign and I don't know if him or his team will be able to recover.

Fire Saban now. He lost to teams with much less talent.
If you can't see that the team has checked out, you are not paying attention. They are hearing all the rumors and know that he is gone. The fact that he lead them back to win those games says a lot. We need someone who can spread teams out and develop a QB. He is still my number 1 choice with Jimbo 2.
