Of course only a couple ppl know for sure but yes that's what I'm hearing. Last night it was said we'd probly announce Saturday when earlier this week it was Monday morning it's no coincidence that Herman's game is taking place now and fishers Saturday. All our plans moved up 2 days after jimbo was completely out of it. I was told the issue was over Pruitt Arranda and that Herman has been the target since the wisky loss but we hit a snag last Friday over some problem or misunderstanding between Arrandas ppl and Alleva.

Funny you say that because that's exactly what Texas wants they've made offers to Arranda already even without Herman they're trying to get Arranda as their DC.

Aranda getting poached by another university because we don't have a coach would be a disaster.
We have to keep Aranda locked up no matter who the head coach is. Geez. What if we get in a bidding war over head coach AND Aranda?
What a mess. Firing Les only worked if we had a plan and a back door agreement on a top coach. But, apparently, we've had neither, so we leave everyone twisting in the wind and then try to figure out what to do with O pushing for the job.

This went down last Friday and is how Alleva almost fricked everything up. Arrandas ppl came to town to talk to him about offers on Friday Alleva panicked and started with Jimbo again the word was he freaked out and was telling both parties yes to anything they asked for. By the 4th quarter in the Florida game I got a txt saying things have stabilized Herman is back on the table. Apparently jimbo was stubborn about keeping Pruitt and Arranda felt like we weren't protecting him so he took offers from Texas this made Herman back off and is why the Jimbo story got hot last weekend.

I was told Jimbo was out and it wasn't a rumor yesterday that we asked Jimbo to keep Arranda and not Pruitt and he flat out said no. He said we are all in on Herman but the offer was 6mil for 6years and that Texas and Herman's agent both knew that we offered Jimbo 6.5 so Texas raised the offer and we were renegotiating another offer with Herman.

The problem when you're dealing with Texas is that the boosters negotiate the deals so you have their president saying he wants to keep Strong while their money men are trying to convince a new guy it's his job. This has been going on there since pre Mack brown and when you're bidding against them it slows everything down. The thing is great coaches avoid Texas because they don't want 12 bosses and when they're negotiating there's no administration there to talk about thei vision and plan for the future and the great coaches don't like that so they walk.

Disagree
Clearly firing Les has already worked. We are getting a glimpse of what we can be when we utilize our playmakers and actually employ the forward pass on something other than 3rd and long.
Firing Les as early as we did should've given us ample time to work back channels HARD.
Looks like we might've gone all in on Jimbo again and then shifted focus to Herman too late.
But NO MATTER WHAT getting rid of Les Miles flat out is an upgrade.
His O was excruciating.
