so how mad exactly are you going to be when you have had MONTHS to wrap herman up and texas comes in and hires him?
How mad will Texas boosters be when Herman is either coaching at LSU or Houston next year and Charlie Strong is still coaching UT?

Will it be a full on revolt? Someone has to win that power play, right? To me, it's amazing a university with the resources such as UTA can't help but trip over their own feet.

Any right-minded coach wouldn't want to be associated with that mess. UTA is a coaching graveyard until the internal politics are resolved.

It doesn't feel like a play by Herman. The Texas meltdown implies that the leak was a desperation act by Texas. If we end up with jimbo, I'm very happy. With Herman, I'm very happy.

With Hanny talking up O, I'm relieved with either pick.

We all have our preferences, but either is a home run.

Until they hire a real AD who can actually lead and beat the boosters into submission and then use them as an advantage instead of an anchor (see Bama), then this will just keep repeating.

He wanted no part in the perm ban bet. I don't necessarily believe 9458... but he at least took the ban bet..

Whoever he spoke with at Texas told others and they leaked the info. Seriously, look where the leaks came from. Texas.

Texas was blindsided by that information and many of the boosters went into panic mode. In fact, there is supposed to be a contingent of rich boosters flying out to Memphis to go meet with Herman tomorrow. But nonetheless I've read on several sites that it was Herman's agent that leaked that information. Now I don't know how he leaked that information. He may have told a Texas booster and then that Texas booster told everyone else. Hence, the reason why so many people believe it was Texas that leaked the story.

If 9458 proves to have been right from the start it'll mean three things.

1) The man is a fricking legend. (I assume it's a man?)

2) LSU got Jimbo Fisher and life is good

3) Alleva is far more competent than I think he is. This would be a masterwork if it comes to pass.

I just don't believe this. It all comes down to if you believe Texas leaked the info or not. If they did, Herman is coming to LSU. If Herman's agent leaked it, Herman is going to Texas.

He ain't going to Texas. It's been made pretty clear he thinks Texas is a dumpster fire and doesn't like the drama bull shite from the boosters.

That's the same story I read as well. I also read he loves it at Houston. Thus, he may be using the news of the LSU offer as leverage to extract more money out of Houston, as Houston's AD has said that they would match any offer Herman got.

It's silly to offer any perm ban bets about something completely dependent upon others decisions.

He may like it there but there's no way he stays there in my opinion. I mean, LSU and Texas will most likely have coaching vacancies and they're 2 of the best Jobs in the country. If he doesn't leave Houston for LSU or Texas then what the hell is he doing? What job is he waiting on?

Well you said Herman didn't talk to LSU officials today, but Thursday. Well that doesn't make sense lol.

And the story was broke by a Texas website and the guy that runs that website.

why does everything have Horns and Texas all over it?

Because he probably leaked it to a Texas booster, which would explain why many Texas boosters went into panic mode after they heard the news. Not to mention that I also heard earlier this week that Herman put out a timetable for Texas to talk to him if they wanted to talk to him.

Yep, Yep and Yep.

Even if Jimbo was smoke for Herman or Herman smoke for Jimbo, Alleva comes out smelling like roses. You'll still have your haters, but it's a coup either way. Now if he whiffs on tier one and Gundy/Fedora/O get hired, Cluckster will need new genetically engineered hamsters.

If his aspirations are Houston (where he will never win a national championship) then he isn't a coach worth talking to.
