Here's a thought...
You're right and it is Jimbo and has been all along.
Herman is getting antsy, because LSU is hiring Jimbo and thus eliminating any leverage he has, and Texas is acting like frickwads and haven't offered or haven't offered what he wants.
Herman's agent leaks this story to put some pressure on Texas. Other than hurting his current Houston team, it's no harm to Herman... makes him look coveted by LSU, puts pressure on Texas, puts pressure on Houston to give raise.
Is that what went down, or was it simply UT boosters trying to put pressure on their admins?

That does make sense if Herman got nervous that we were getting Fisher and he hasn't heard shite from Texas. In that scenario, Herman is left out totally.

So Herman's agent let's it leak, his players are probably up all night worried that their coach is leaving, meaning they'll be sleep-walking tomorrow against Memphis.
Herman is risking tomorrow's game over leverage? Am I hearing that about right?

Everything was so preciesly orchestrated - the Herman bomb dropped tonight just as the LSU game started. And then, less than an hour later, LSU releases an official press release on the rumors.
All while Joe was in one of the suites at Kyle Field.
It's almost like we had that press release ready to go before the Herman news was even released...
