Thanks RU, I haven't been stalking threads, I posted two 3 days ago that got whacked but a few folks got to read them, that information hasn't changed, a lot of folks will disagree and that's fine but jumping on this coward's bandwagon when he pussed out and left everyone looking like idiots last year while Random and I ate shite is bullshite.

Don't thank me: I think you're probably full of shite, too. Nothing personal. We know that F King and Alleva were in Houston and met with Herman. We know that a number of sources say a "deal is being worked out."
Yes, coaching searches are fluid, but 9 times out of 10, this is the end game and coach x joins school y. Tom Herman is probably LSU's next head coach.

I think someone has agreed in principle and is trying to be kept under wraps. ESPN obviously was just going for ratings because it's source was so incredibly weak. Right in the middle of the LSU game. frickers.

We all were in Jimbo, Random and I had very similar info but DALSU started saying muschamp for D.C. And all this ridiculous bullshite then when it blew up and Alleva made his announcement then DA ran like a bitch from this board...

Not correct, Tim Brando came our shortly after Miles was fired and confirmed the entire story was true until F King and Bobby Jindal intervened at the last moment to nix the deal. Tim Brando also said that Tom Herman would be stupid to accept the LSU job if offered because the politics at LSU sucked so badly. However, I can't imagine the politics at LSU is anywhere near as bad as it is at Texas.

What my (non-insider) opinion?
Jimbo was probably approached. Jimbo probably did make a counter offer, which was accurate per Random. Jimbo and LSU likely did not come to an agreement.
LSU moved on to Herman, who reciprocated their intentions. Herman to LSU is all but official by Saturday.
What makes me say this? Well... as a Raider fan, I've gone through more coaching searches than almost anyone else. These "rumors" look like the end-game to me.
And anyone who thinks Herman's agent would leak "Herman to LSU" before Herman plays a game tomorrow is fooling themselves. Herman's players probably won't be able to sleep tonight because of those rumors, meaning they'll be at a disadvantage tomorrow morning. No coach is okay with being at a disadvantage.
