Texas runs the coach. The coach doesn't run Texas. That's why no matter what the money they have been unable to pull from the top.

I just don't get this thought process.
Has Texas not been fair to Strong?
Paid him $5M a year. He'll get $10M if he gets fired.
Has the athletic department not helped Strong?
They gave him all of the resources he needed to bring in excellent recruiting classes while having losing seasons.
Has the University leadership not helped Strong?
Heck, the University President got on a plane himself to help close the deal on a new Offensive Coordinator.
Was Texas unfair to Strong by not firing him after the Kansas loss?
All year, the Texas President & AD told Charlie he would have the full regular season. If they fire him before the end of the regular season, they are liars, and they would get bashed for that.
There was one prominent booster who said, from the beginning, Strong wouldn't get the job done. Guess what, he was right:

If UT was smart with the drama around coaching circle and the program if hermans worth 5m pay him 6. Just get it done quickly. Hopefully Lsu is doing the same because we are in the same boat. He's not gonna do worse than strong did and he's a good gamble. Would be a god around Austin if he just gets em back to 9 wins a year. If I were Texas I would worry about Oregon. Lsu is all in for jimbo .. Hermans from the west coast and they can pay big for the guy they want.

We got shite in the press for mishandling Les Miles at the end of last season
Texas has been mishandling Charlie Strong for the last 2 years.

he has had 0 slack his entire time there.
I don't follow Texas and I still heard hot seat rumors last year. His second year there.

The irony is, I think this search is somewhat backwards.
I feel like LSU needs a breath of fresh air and a new direction: perfectly embodied by Tom Herman. Herman is a younger guy, new vision, new approach, etc.
Texas? Texas needs an old salt who has the moxie and résumé to get complete control of a program from day one and relinquish nothing. Jimbo Fisher is a man who can command that kind of day one respect.
Neither program will be complaining if things go as expected, with LSU grabbing Fisher and Texas grabbing Herman, but I just think it's an interesting dynamic.

There's actually some real truth in this. Not that we're getting or going after Fisher but he obviously has way more skins on the wall.
