Let's say Alleva and the Admins defy all logic and hire CEO as the HC. That means a few things that could send this program into a downward spiral.

1. You burn any chance of ever getting Jimbo to Baton Rouge again. Like him or hate him, if it doesn't pan out this time around, he's done. Two years of flirtation without sealing the deal is enough to make any man crazy.

2. When the time comes, and it will likely come sooner rather than later, and you have to get rid of O, you've alienated a long list of qualified coaches that will, in all likelihood, no longer be interested.

3. You run the risk of tarnishing the brand. Say what you want about Miles, but the fact is that LSU replaced a great coach in Saban, with another great coach (for a time anyway). Combined they've built the LSU brand to be one of the best in college football. If O isn't successful, IMMEDIATELY, you run the risk of tarnishing what has been built over the last 10 years. Think about it, you fire a national championship coach, hire the dline coach and then your team continues to under preform. You have another coaching search again in 2-3 years. That's a big ole pile of shite on the face of the program and Alleva will without a doubt be fired after that.

4. You become a revolving door at the coordinators positions. Sure, this means your teams are relatively successful for breif stints, but how does that affect the program long term? How can a coordinator walk into a kids house and promise them they'll be there coach for their time at LSU? They can't, this is an unattractive thing for recruits.

5. What if O can't convince a top notch OC to work for him?.....Yea no explanation needed.

6. What if you piss off Aranda, who used to be O's boss, and then O still can't get a top notch OC? Really, really fricked at that point.

There is far too much at risk to waste this opportunity. I get some of you love the guy because the games are fun, the players a hyped, and we've demolished a few shite teams. But what happens when the SEC is no longer in a down year and you have to rely of Coach O to run the entire program and then turn around and navigate a true gauntlet of a schedule. I don't see that scenario playing out well for the program.

We are losing a lot of players next year. We will be very talented still but less experienced. Coaching will count more than ever.

How much slack would O get?
